What's stopping your enlightenment?

In the Classic book 'Transmission Of The Light' Daoxin said to his master;

"Please give me truth that will set me free of bondage."

The master asks Daoxin "What is binding you and keeping you from awakening?"

Daoxin said "Nothing is binding me."

and he realised the absolute clarity of truth.

    But how can a person know how to live well if life is so troubling? You have to learn enlightenment too.
